Herati Rugs: Herati rugs are named after the pattern from the Afghan city of Herat. It is a small, continuous pattern that is knotted in various provenances. More rarely, it is also called an almond pattern.
Indian Rugs: The knotting of carpets in India dates back to the Mughal Empire in the 16th century. At that time, knotting factories were built according to the Persian model. The influence of the patterns can still be seen today, even though Indian carpets are of very good quality, especially in new creations.
